I've just used mostly wal-mart bought testors spray paint.  I keep them all waxed with Meguiars and it works just fine...

Question about model kits

A friend of mine used to be big into models and he used Dupli-color with great success. He actually turned a first generation Taurus model into a Sable (modified the quarter panels because Sables had skirted rear wheels and different quarter windows, made up the Sable all-light front end) with spectacular results. He did so because his father had a Sable, but nobody offered Sable model kits.

I actually pained my Monogram TC with Testors model paint (the stuff in the little square bottles) and a brush, and it came out very well, all things considered. The red paint was almost identical to the plastic it was molded in to begin with, but it came out shinier. Like I said: A cheap, rushed job :hick:

The REALLY expensive plane kits come molded in silver with no casting flaws or waves in the plastic. The talented guys actually polish the plastic sooooo much it looks like polished aluminum. It's an awesome deal because the molded-in-color plastic will always out-do paint, but every single casting flaw stays in. Model Empire's NAS kits are the only cars I know of (in a color) to have no flaws. I saw a Black Lumina of DE Sr.s done up like that and it was awe-inspiring.
