Agh...the "I want that car" bug is biting...hard

Earlier I was on Autotrader just mucking around, seeing what was listed. I found an '82 Mustang GT in PA for a song....except that #1 it's an hour and 15 min away, #2 I don't actually have the cash on hand for it (though I could charge it), #3 I really don't need another impractical car that I can't drive in the winter and don't really have a place to store.

But man I'd like to have that thing...

An hour and 15 minutes is nothing.

Let's see... is it black with a red interior?
My only concern just by looking at the pictures is the 10 hole wheel on the front passenger side. I'm wondering if maybe the previous owner popped a curb and busted the rim, screwing up the front end.
Notice that fender is also knocked out of alignment...

I don't know, it's your call. But if you don't need it, I wouldn't bother. I'd find another one.

I can relate, a bit anyway. I drove 13 hours (New Orleans) one way to look at my 88' 2.5 years ago. It took 19 hours to get down there by bus after deciding to buy it - oh joy. I drove 9 hours (New Jersey) to look at 2 cat's a year before and bought neither. I drove 6(Chicago) hours, one way, to buy my 86' Blue LS. I drove 3 hours one way to Indiana to buy my 86' Silver Turbo Cat. I live 30 minutes north of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Well yeah it's great that you guys drove a bazillion hours and all...I'm saying I'd have to drive an hour just to LOOK at this car, and who knows what kind of shape it's in. Given the price of gas I'd really hate to waste all that gas if it's a POS.

Nevermind the fact that I don't have the money so it's a moot point...

it got me too the other day. took a look at a 99 jeep cherokee sport about an hour and a half away. called on it because it looked to be a good deal. turned out to be ed near mint with decent miles. i beat him up on the price and took it home. when i picked up the stang i flew to ft. myers fl. for it. i forget how many hours it was but it was 1604 miles. it was a realy great experiance. i wish i could do it all over again. sometimes those deals are realy worth it if you can make it work out for you.
