Please start I must go to work

HELP the  thing won't start. It's an 87 bird 3.8 tbi battery 1000 cca diehard gold full charge. turn the key and nothing, jump the solenode an the relay clicks no turn over, no noise from starter, all new under the cap, a couple of times the starter kept turning after the key was released. Now nothing. WTF!!! any ideas Thanks:birdsmily:

First off it sound to me like the starter is toast either that or the cable running to it has a bad spot. Also the starter could be toast if it was running while the motor was. Starters are only made to run for a short period of time the cool down. If it over heats mostof the time it is toast. But you could test it but running a jumper cable wire to the + side of the battery and the starter. That should make it turn over even if the wire or sileniod is bad if not it is the starter. If anything take it of and to a parts store and have them test it.
Also if the motor is locked up the starter won't spin it over but you should here the starter kick out into position on the flywheel.  As for the starter sticking make sure it isn't the Ignition switch or the rod the goes to it. The silenoid might be sticking too.
