2.3T cam

Would you recomend for this setup

n/a block done up with good rods and pistons

Head will be a N/A head ported and have big valves 1.94/1.50 if they will go chambers will be un shrouded and Polished to reduce compression.

induction will be a Full ported F.I lower w/4 brl adapter

Custom built 1-5/8 header (similar to the front mounted ATR)with a large external wastegate

650 double pumper

T70 turbo with the .86 exhaust housing

looking to run 26-30 psi and spray 50-75 on top of that through a carbed plate kit.My goal will be mid 6's in the 1/8th mile on this setup and cam selection is were im stuck at ive been looking at the .500 lift lunati but may have to go with a custom grind if no one thinks an off the shelf unit will work.

Any opinions?

Draw through or blow through? FI would be so much easier to tune.I would use something in the .500 lift area 220
duration.

yea why not jsut do fuel injection? to much work to wire it into the stang?

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.

With that much boost you might have problems collapsing the floats. plus you have to build a sealed box for the carb.

i'd think you'd have a few more problems than that,

i'm no expert, but would that be enough pressure to back feed the carb's entire fuel system ?


at the same time, going carbed, your gonna have to get an MSD BTM, to back out the timing.

on a side note, you want to run mid 6's with a 2.3 turbo ... in what kinda car ?

i ran ..let's call it a 10 flat, in my beat-up old oil blowing 7 psi of boosted, 143k miles  N/A 2.3 motor, with a missed shift, and 3.23 gears,

i based all of my stuff of a gentalman in flordia that built his entire mustang with less than like 1000 $ worth of junk yard parts and some crafty-ness

the fuel won't backflow if you have enough fuel pressure. to run 30psi of boost you would need about 35-40 psi of fuel pressure. prolly some kind of  FMU should work.

If I was running a weak fuel system it may be an issue,Im running an aeromotive setup with boost referanced regulator

To avoid having to completly enclose the carb it will have boost referanced throttle shafts

Cool you did your homework and have it all figured out. That should be one bad @$$ mustang when you're done. I'm glad you're in TN and not here in FL. I'd hate to line up against you at orlando speedworld and get my doors blown off.(although i do miss my wrangler)

1.49to 1.51" is the stock exhaust valve head size. Oversized exhaust are usally around 1.59" . You might get 1.94" intakes to fit, not sure, they are usually 1.89" OS. It willl be hard to unshroud either size in an NA head, especially 1.94s. Good luck with it, sounds like a neat project.
