Saved from the crusher

Bought it for $75, with a locked up 3.8. Sat in the garage for 2 yrs, and was forced to start fixing it up after totalling my F150. Luckily my g/f's brother had a motor from a '85 cougar, in exchange for a roof repair. So after the engine swap and some minor trans. repairs, this is what I ended up with, for around $350-$400. Future mods.....paint, wheels, and hopefully a V8/ 5 spd. When the funds are right!

That is one smokin deal. To bad your buddy didn't give it to you for free like the way I got my 84 turbo coupe. The grill say 83-84 and the tail lights say 85-86 so witch is it. It looks to be an 85 from what I can see of the dash in the pic of the rear of the car.

The grille has the later ('85+) emblem on it....

Judging by the C-pillar emblems, tail lights, grille and third brake light I'd say it's an '86. Oh yeah, and his user title, too :hick:
