My son's bad news......

My 11 yeard ol son's "girlfriend" (they've been close since kindergarden) died of pneumonia. He's pretty shhok up about it,as are we.We've been close to her and her parents for 6 years. She was 11.Prety py to see young ones die,for any reason. He'll get through it,we're talking to him,and letting him have some space. He's a little guy,so he isn't understanding of these things as I am.As you all know, all you can do is take it one day at a time and keep working through it.

LOT'S of good times. She would go with us out to eat,the lake, the park, wherever. My little man is a pretty strong kid, but,I think he has more going on inside. We talked for quite a while, and I told him if he feels like being sad, that's just fine, and if he feels like he needs to cry, that's O.K. too.he cried for a little while after that.I think that's what he needed.he seems a lot more at ease now.he had too much inside he wasn't letting out.He knows he's got love and that he's not alone.

I appreciate you guys.I was just "venting" (not in a mad way, just a "what a py day" way). It'll get better.I work in a Veteran's center (like a home for Veteran's),and have unfortunately, seen more people die than anyone has a right to.I've been there 14 years now,and am ready to move from nursing car to another department.I'm just tired of seeing it,at work and away.I need a box of fudgecicles.

its always hard to lose someone like that, and he needs space but at the same time he doesnt need too much since he is young and doesnt understand things as well as older people might.  I'll be praying for you guys.  take care vinnie

i know how he feels, losing someone like that at a young age though im now almost 16 and just lost my friend so its alittle different. But seeing someone young just go like that its not something that settles very well inside. its just one of those things that shouldn't happen, but theres absolutely nothing we can do. Its out of our hands.

He eknows I'm here for him. He's 11,and ever since he was born (literally),he's been with me.If I'm not working, and he's not in school, you will always see him with me.He's my little partner, always.I think he'll be fine in time. You know how it is,it takes time to let things smooth out. It'll take a while, the funeral is Tuesday, and we'll be there. Not just our situation, but anyone's,I just hate to see the young kids go that early.Like it was stated above, though,it's out of our hands. One day at a time. Thanks guys.

Sorry to hear about that. Thankfully you and him have a close relationship, which will help him through it. Some kids are not as lucky.
