I wish someone would post some decent door panels for sale at a good price. There's one guy selling them, but he won't ship them.

Does it matter what color they are? I have a set or red ones I could ship. The arm rests are messed up a little but I could get pics.

Eh...I wouldn't say they're getting popular....

More like, nobody repops the lights (except the headlights apparently).

And it seems that people are willing to pay an exorbitant amount for something that someone else spent a couple hours cleaning up.

On the subject, why does it seem like so many '87-88 birds have the outside plastic cover on the taillight busted?

$150 for a taillight?

That's nothing. Look at all the time put into restoring it. Finding a set of good seals alone is next to impossible. More power to the guy selling it...that was a lot of elbow grease to shape that thing up. If an outstanding used piece can command NOS prices, I'd say he did his job exquisitely.

It does seem that TC owners are jumping all over things, though.
Might be time for me to dump some NOS TC parts... ;)

Bah, I don't think he put THAT much work into it. Probably the most effort was polishing the lens, I know mine are kinda scratched up.

I cleaned my lights up recently, took them apart and all they really needed was a good cleanup on the inside with soap & water, then I put them back together & sealed em up with silicone. Granted they don't look quite as perfect as that light does but I didn't feel like spending forever on them, had I taken a buffing wheel to the lens I'm sure it would have looked just as nice as that one.

My opinion is that if I had a busted tail light and couldn't find one locally I'd be happy to pay $150 rather than drive around with red tape over my lights (which I did for a couple months a few years back). Some of these parts are getting pretty hard to find in good shape.

Michael was and/or is still looking to reproduce the lenses. Of course, a lens set would cost a couple hundred minimum, as its not cheap to make something in relatively small quantities. A rigid mold needs to be made before anything, and preferably it'd be metal.

I have a pair of taillights now that I spent days cleaning up. Polished every square centimeter of the inner and outer lenses multiple times with 3 different materials/coarseness to get all the dirt and factory defects out. Just need to go over them one more time in the more difficult crevices and seal them up with many tubes of silicone to get them airtight between lenses. Now I'm afraid of putting them on my car as they'd probably fetch $500 on ebay. Thinking I should hold off until I can garage the car permanently.

What I'm wondering, seeing as it seems to be the same person bidding up all these items, is if the sellers are actually getting paid for 'em...
