advice needed.

ok. due to resent events in my personal life, I'm going from a 3bedroom 1300square foot house to a 448sf. apartment. so I'm going to have to thin the herd. namely getting rid of the mgb, soon to be ex-wifes volvo, and proboly the imfamus parts car 87 tc. also trying to get rid of my stupid 91 aerostar. this will leave me with the 88tc and my 72 buick riviara. this brings us to now. the only soon to be beparted car that still needs a home it the van. so tonight I'm helping a friend, help his friend. we are tinkering with an 88 ford ranger single cab, short bed manual everything, with a 2.3l atached to a 5speed. he wants to trade this litle bute, plus $500cash to me for my van. he also has a 455ci buick big block, witch is what I need to get my rivi back on the road. now my delema is do I get the truck, and drop a 2.3t in it or do I get the bb and fix my boat? the ranger would make one hell of a little sleeper, but the buick is my baby. so what should I do? oh and don't bother comenting on the deverce, its ok. the point here is, classic american muscle vs odd american mini truck with killer power!

455. Five speed rangers are a dime a dozen.

You can get a ranger anywhere for  near nothing near me. Keep the 455. It's a more uncommon car, and if need be, can be sold for ALOT more then a 2.3T ranger IMO

Why not just drop a few hundred on a beater POS? I got my 90 CVPI for $400 and it's going on 2 years strong. If you look you can find all sorta of steals out there if thats the road you wana take. Just my :2c:

I don't need a beater my 88tc is the most reliable car I've ever owned. the 455ci is a rare motor, and that is probobly what I'm going to do after all. lol I'm trying to get rid of cars and end up getting another. that's how it always goes with me. the rivi is a bad ass car and I need to get it back on the road. thanks for the input. oh and the guy wants $1200 cash for the truck. if you want to come to north texas to get it than have at it. he doesn't want an escort, infact next week he's  crushing like 20 of those.
