Valve cover

I have after market covers with one hole that I ran direct to the TB.What I was wondering is should I use a breather instead.My reason of thinkin is I may be suckin the oil out of the motor?.It's been this way for a year but I don't drive it much to notice.

Does the valve cover have a baffle in it?

well i know the terminator cobras have a prob with that. Id run a breather to be on the safe side, or if you want to check, put something for a filter type deal, drive it, and see if it collects anything.

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.

I pulled the hose at the tb at idle actually feel vacume,No oil in the hose .But under load I'm not sure,Like I said I,m curious to thoughts on this?

When I had the generic valve covers on mine, I just did the breaters. Nothing speical, just autozones best in chrome. I just reciently upgraded to chrome ford racing valve covers and breathers. You can have th eold breathers for shipping if you want them

I'm not lookin for VC's,I got nice alluminoms F the spellin .
Haven't tried them because to much work and I don't think they will clear the 1.7's,I will be takin the intake off soon for an upgrade injectors and some new stuff.

im guessing it just rubber hose right, put like a small fuel filter on it, that way you have a way to see if oil is going through. just a cheap way to check.

Thats for the PCV system mostly.When the PCV is open, its sucking air through the crankcase, and that is its way of getting fresh air. The thing that no one cares to think about is when you have crankcase pressure, and youre wide open throttle, there is no suction to help pull the pressure out and keep a vacume in the crankcase if you remove that hose and put a breather there.

With my turbo coupe, i had nasty blow by issues when i ran an open breather.
It's Gumby's fault.
