Carbed AOD Help!!! February 12, 2007, 08:42:54 AM Ok, This was breifly covered in the Fila thread, but how do I convert an Edelbrock to work with the AOD. It still has the rod on it. Would it be eaiser to go to a throttle cable? I know I can fab a bracket for it to work but I need more direction. Anyone do this / have a pic? Quote Selected

Carbed AOD Help!!! Reply #7 – February 13, 2007, 07:55:53 AM I had the summit, a year one stang book, and a few stang' catalogs, not a jeggs. I just don't know what to order. In suppit they have 2 vabled. Both for AOD's. And Scott made some mention of being able to fab a bracket from the carb to the TV rod. Which would be better, spend the $50 odd on the kit or try to fab it for less? Quote Selected

Carbed AOD Help!!! Reply #10 – February 13, 2007, 11:46:30 AM Scott, your the one that told me to fab something. Can you even use paint to give me a clue of what to do? I know how it shorks and how it connected to the CFI but it's not even close on the carb. I though ti would just have to ut a stud on the carb and put the TV roc and a return spring. I know this is more then likely wrong but thats why i'm asking for help. Quote Selected
Carbed AOD Help!!! Reply #11 – February 13, 2007, 12:27:53 PM When I switched to the 4 barrel Edlebrock that I have on the car now, I had to use this EDL-1483. Its an adapter for the TV rod it was about $20 at Summit. I then had to make slight adjustments at the transmission so it would kick into passing gear at the appropriate time. Quote Selected

I just thought of something else,, instead of two holes,,, just make sure one end is big enough to hold the plastic bushing form the tv rod,, then make the other end slotted so it is adjustable. that would make it possible for you to do all the tweeking up at the engine bay. If you break the bushing, they are sitll avail at ford very cheap. i have no idea what the actual out of the box parts look like but ill imagie they achieve the same concept. Quote Selected
