Hey folks,

In an attempt to help smooth out and create a better "Trading" experience here we have instigated a new feedback policy.

We are introducing the "iTrader" rating.  It works similar to the ebay feedback method and allows for both sides to leave feedback and rate the experience.  This is also accessible and readily available for every registered user of the board.  The Feedback Forum currently in use is ok, but unless you pour over it and read every thread, it's not a very convienient method.

Currently the user's iTrader rating is shown by clicking on their username, but as ThunderChicken tweaks the code a bit it should show up with the user's statistics (hopefully in place of the worthless "Rep Power")

Now this is only going to work if people use it, so please when completing any transaction with another member of this forum, take the time to leave feedback.

To leave feedback, you click on the user's iTrader score and it takes you to a screen that displays the user's current feedback and feedback history.  From there you can leave feedback for another user and either simply rate the transaction, or you can go in depth and leave a link to the ad and leave comments if you like.

Now this is ONLY FOR FEEDBACK FOR MARKETPLACE TRANSACTIONS.  Do not use it for any other reason, period.  Do not misuse this, as it if of benefit to all of us on this forum.

The Feedback Forum can still be used if you have more to say, or have an instance that the iTrader rating does not work for, but please try to use the iTrader feedback whenever possible.

I think that over time it will help identify who's good to do business with and who you should be careful about.

Now, go about your business!

Just one thing to add: Since this is the Fox T-Bird/Cougar forums, and since everything here is better than it is everywhere else (:shakeass:), this system is also better than eBay's feedback system in that one cannot "feedback bomb" another by leaving several negatives back-to-back. Also, we can edit/delete feedback here if the system is being abused.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE'LL TAKE SIDES.
Reasons feedback may be edited/deleted include, but are not limited to personal insults, profanities, "fake" feedback (in which no transaction ever occurred) or other inappropriate postings.

Reasons feedback will NOT be edited/deleted include, but are not limited to "he said/she said situations", "retaliatory" feedback,
and whatever the hell we decide on.

As Chuck said, the feedback system is NOT to be used as a personal or thread rating system like Chuck's beloved "reputation" system. The Feedback system is for sales transactions initiated through this forum only. Do NOT use it to leave a member here feedback for something that you bought from them on eBay UNLESS THE LINK TO THE AUCTION WAS POSTED HERE. In other words, unless you can argue that you found out about the auction and purchased because you saw it here, keep it away from here. eBay has their own feedback system for that.

Ok, now it's even cooler - I finally figured out how to get the ed thing to show up with the other user stats on the right side of the page. I also renamed it to something more intuitive, so people don't say "WTF is iTrader???":

I cant get this to show up, it says:

88turbo, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1.  Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

2.  If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Someone else says they have this issue as well.  I'm not sure what the deal is.  I can get to mine and check other peoples', so I'm not sure.  Perhaps T C can find out what the issue is.

Great idea but does this start now or can we give feedback on a transaction that took place a few weeks ago or months ago.
I’ve done good business w/some on this board and never got around to saying thank you.

That's a valid question and I knew it was going to come up.
I'm not too sure how to handle that.  I think it might be good if everyone was "truthful" (or at least as how they remembered it), but I see it possibly leading to artificially inflated (or deflated) ratings.

What do the higher-ups think?

The problem should be fixed. Seems for certain user groups it defaulted to "Can't do anything".

As for previous experiences, I'd say it's OK as long as somebody isn't trying to settle a score from three years ago or something like that. Just use common sense.

I was just going to suggest anything from the first of the year as kind of a safe default for retroactive feedback.
