My 'Bird JUST took a hit.........

Well, about 45 minutes ago,I was sitting here at my computer desk looking around here on the forum, and heard a "pop".I looked out the window and saw a Hummer backed up to my driver side door.I asked myself, "did he hit my car?".t that moment,he takes off,and I see my car sette back down.Yes,he hit my car.I walked across the street and asked the neighbor what the kid's name was and if they had his number. They called him and he was back in 5 minutes. When he arrved,he asked what was going on,and I told him he hit my car.He said he didn't,and that there was mud on the dent (he hit the door right in the handle).I grabbed him by the shoulder of his jacket and showed him all of my pretty blue paint he had on his bumper.I called the police and they wrote a report and I hope to have everything fixed ASAP.He told the policeman he didn't see my car.THAT is why 16 year olds have no business in a vehicle like that.Had to vent, guys. Thanks for listening.

same thing happened to my buddies Acura after we won the world series. but its all good now he came back like this kid did.

Thats why daddy shouldn't pay for there kids new car! MY Kids are buying their own cars like i had to, you respect them more, and others cars too.

I agree completely.I actually had my first vehicle given to me.My dad had a '74 GMC pickup out under a tree that had the 454 in it.He said if I could get it running,I could have it.He bought me a set of Craftsman tools (like a starter set) and a Chilton's manual.I worked at the local grocery store and saved every penney to fix the truck.dad would help with tech info and a little muscle when needed, but otherwise left it to me.I really got a lot out of it.I also REALLY appreciated that old truck and took it personally when someone scratched it,or wasn't "kind" to it.Kids have everything handed to them these days (most kids).Too bad.

I think 9 oout of 10 people that drive those have no business in them. Especially when they can't take responsibility for their own ****-ups.

Bummer about the car though. Any damage beyond the door?

Thats why i dont race anyone when im on Hall or Elm( our drag spots around here) that had the car given to them and dont have to pay gass or insurance. I bulid( if can call it than) and pay for what i drive so dont come to me with a car you had done for you as a present. --vent--

if anything i will do something like that for my kids. the more of YOUR money you have in a car the more respect you have for it

I couldnt agree more Vinnie. Kids at my highschool dont know jack about their cars... They have their "daddy's" camaro.. or corvette.. that they say has all this  in it.. and they dont even know what it is.

I know exactly what its like... I was practically given my t-bird and Ive done everything possible to it out of my own pocket... because thats how its sopposed to be done. Right? Every mod to my car every expense was mine.. or I had to pay back. Granted I just turned 16 in december.. I know more about cars than some people already. Call me conceited.. But I take pride in it.

There. I added a bit to your rant Vinnie.

Yep!!!

My whole Bird' was built on a very tight budget. I have to count every penny. The best part is everyone has a 5.0 stang' or a 350 camaro. how many people( work with me here) do you see driving Fox birds/cougars? Even when you do, others have no respect. I almost killed a freind for sitting on my hood at school teh otehr day. i couldn't even imagine someone hitting her:beatyoass:

Well,no other damage than the door.I really don't see how they can repair it.It will have to be replaced. It washiznit right on the door handle, and caved in.I am really wondering what the estimate will be.

When my door washiznit ( a freind drove the bumper of a full size bronco into her ), it was right in the middle of the door. The window was down too, I'm amazded it didn't break.

AMEN TO THAT! I was given my Cougar, given the fact that my Uncle died when I was 3 DEFENDING that exact car because someone was writing on the windows. I put $1000 into that car to get it running after 14 years of sitting. I buy EVERYTHING with my own money, and I have 3 NICE cars to show for it. I happen to find really good deals. All of my friends had there stuff handed to them, and my Cougar still smoked them in a drag race....because they called it a "Granny car". NO ONE, and I repeat NO ONE has driven my car without my permission, and that was one VERY good friend. I am very protective of my car.

-unfortunately a lot of it is parenting.  all in how they were brought up.  if one of my kids took off with out telling the owner or leaving a note, i'd be highly upset with their actions more than they just hit somebodys car......
