Heater Core Change on 83 84? January 05, 2007, 11:21:36 AM Ok I can do the 85-88 Heater core in my sleep... But who has done the 83-84? Are there any ass biters involved when doing it?Now once again I'm asking about 83 and 84's so if your going to chime in about an 85 to 88 save your breath. Quote Selected

Heater Core Change on 83 84? Reply #3 – January 09, 2007, 06:13:54 PM I think he's talking about the basic procedure vs. the newer dash. I cannot say for certain if the entire dash has to be unbolted, but my guess would be 'yes'. That is probably the only real difference. The older heater boxes were the same as what other older Foxes had, so attachment to the firewall should be the same.Personally...I think if Claude got through the differences in engine harness wiring okay, he should have no problems with a heater core. Heater Core Change on 83 84? Reply #4 – January 09, 2007, 06:42:00 PM I never pulled the dash completely out of either of the ones I did. I had it pretty much loosened and pulled back and help back lossely w/ a couple bungees to get to the heater box lid, but that's about it. Quote Selected
Heater Core Change on 83 84? Reply #5 – January 09, 2007, 06:56:24 PM Okay, I understand...I the '84 (mothers bird at this time), the dash pad is easyly removable, when it's done I GUESS just unbolt the right side of the dash frame and loosening some other bolts will make enough space, I dont remember When I parted out the 1984 of Mother in 2000, how I putted out the complete heater unit...Best regards, Quote Selected
