A Z under the tree....with twins to boot

There is a black 1996 300ZX twin turbo 5-speed patiently hiding outside next to the garage for my wife's surprise in the morning.  She's been talking about this car for almost two years.

This will be the second time I have surprised her with a car.  The first time was back in '01 with the 10th AE Miata.

Soooo, this one will be lots-o-fun and I've read that TTs are lots-o-maintenance.

well........    whats her reaction??????? :D

Everything worked out perfectly.  I told her part of her gift was installed in her trunk (sort of implying it was sound system related) so I told her I would go outside and open the hatch and stand back to take a picture of her reaction.
What I did though was stand next to the 300Z.  She walked from the house to the back of her car without seeing the 300 because it was just around the side - not visible until she was down the driveway looking in her trunk.  So I stood next to the 300 with my camera ready and when she was looking in her trunk trying to figure out what was different, I said "Hey Deb, look over here real quick" then snapped the picture when she saw the car.
She can't stop looking at it and looking at pictures I just took of it.  She may not have the same love for Cougars as I do but she does love certain cars (the 300 TT 5M being one) so it will be cool that she can have something to learn the joys, headaches, and rewards of working on cars.

That's awesome.  That one looks like it's in really good shape.  I've always loved those cars, and I've heard that it's quite easy to make them hella fast.

By "quite easy" I guess you mean aftermarket availability.  Compared to what we deal with, yeah, there is a nice bolt-on market for these cars.
However, actually performing these mods is another story.  This is the tightest engine compartment I have ever seen.  I have to snap a picture when I get a chance.

Here are some recent pictures:

Making power is easy, making them fast is another.
It's Gumby's fault.
