Fuel line clips - 88TC December 19, 2006, 12:00:10 PM I need the two fuel line clips that connect the hard lines to the flex lines that go to the engine on my 88 TC. One looks like a c-clip and the other, I believe, is circular in shape....? Quote Selected

N802710-S190 & N802441-S are your ford part #s...or N806191-S1901 for the hairpin clips..... Quote Selected

Fuel line clips - 88TC Reply #3 – January 06, 2007, 02:35:29 PM Ok, well I drove all over San Diego county for 2 days being sent between 4 different Ford dealers only to find both of these parts (ecluding the hairpin cause of course I didn't nee that) were wrong. Both of them were the same diameter as the fuel line fitting (when they need to fit inside of it!).So I'm stuck again... anyone else have any ideas or a parts car they can get this retaining clip off of for me? The fuel line fitting this piece goes into has an inner diameter of about 1/2" so the clip should have a similar OUTER diameter.... Quote Selected

Not to sound rude, but I stopped defaulting to the "it's easy and will work" the same day I stopped doing electrical connections by "twisting and taping" and stopped hanging my 'custom' exhaust with bailing wire. There is a reason auto manufactures stopped using clamps when they went to electric pumps and efi systems and there is a reason performance fuel lines use threaded fittings... Quote Selected

Fuel line clips - 88TC Reply #8 – January 07, 2007, 03:15:57 AM Are you talking about the clips that are on the lines where the hardlines from the frame connect to the rubber hoses that run to the engine?If so, the clip on the one line is the same as the kind of clip that is on the fuel filter, you can buy spares of those at the parts store (they're in the "help!" section at advance), the other one I thought was in the line itself and didn't come out. Of the fuel line connections that you speak of, one of the clips is easily found in any local auto parts store, and are often included in the package when you by a new fuel filter, and also in the "help" packages in parts stores. The other connection for the fuel line is no longer available from ford, the way it was. What is offered today is replacement parts for ford plastic fuel lines which are heat shrunk to fuel lines, which are different than the older ones. These things I know because I just spent two weeks searching for the same fittings for the same fuel lines. A guy on the turboford site was looking for the lines, I had a set and told him that if he donated $10 to the site, that I would send him the lines. He made the donation and when I went to ship the lines, I found out that the same clip that you're looking for now were missing from the lines I had promised the guy. For two weeks, I called everywhere looking for the fittings and they are not available. The older pieces that I or you need were made of thin plastic with an o-ring on it and tended to rust in place on the metal line and ripped out when forced. The newer replacement fittings for the newer lines don't fit the older lines. The high pressure fuel line and the high pressure hyd. hose clamps are rated for 150psi. The hose and clamps can be found in any hydraulic shop or truck service shop......... You can do as you please. I'm just saying, I'd either go stock, with a factory type retaining clip that locks fittings into place or better (threaded) but I don't want to start changing everything around when I just need one piece. I know that high pressure clamps are plenty strong, but I just choose to stick with what Ford used or better (and I personally feel that high pressure clamps do not fit into the better category - if they did, Ford would have made things cheaper/easier and probably used them as well).As for parts stores, I appreciate the suggestion but I've actually looked everywhere. Hairpin style clips are plentiful, but I haven't found the circular retaining clips anywhere. Which is why I am searching for used pieces. Quote Selected

This is part of the reason I REALLY dislike online correspondence sometimes cause no tone can be conveyed. Which was the entire reason I sad "not to be rude" cause I was concerned that some people would take it that way. But in fact, it was something I'd say face to face. I probably worded it wrong, I don't know - I didn't reread it yet, but really, how I meant it to come off was "this is my opinion and I'm sharing it with you cause maybe you hadn't thought of it this way and would like to consider it." It was nothing personal at all and I'm sorry if it come off that way. I just like sharing this stuff cause there are some people who don't know as much about this stuff as you do and might just be throwing lines and clamps together in an unsafe manner. I was only hoping that if that was the case (being that I didn't know your background before replying) that maybe you or whoever would say "woah, yeah, that's true... maybe I should rethink what I've done for my own safety."But anyway, I think that's enough said. They looked right but were too big... same size as the fitting, so they'd never fit inside. Just out of curiousity, where'd you get the numbers from?Edit: I misread your post, but to clarify, I am working up by the drivers side wheel, where the hardlines end and the flexlines attach to go up to the fuel rail... make sense?
