Help with timing!!!!

ok i need help with doing my timing. I would liek to advance my timing. But im not sure if im doing it correctly. Ok do you unplug the IAC or leave it plugged in??  Do you unplug the spout connector only or unlplug both teh IAC and teh spout connector? also wats a good advanced degree of timing ?

I'm not sure what IAC stands for but you do unhook the vacuum advance when setting timing.  On premium gas most of our cars are good for up to 14 degrees of initial advance.

the spout conectpr os wat you are talking about correct??  also IAC is the Idle air control motor locatced on the tb

Unplug the Spout only. Set the base timing @ 12-14 degress. Then listen for spark knock.

Actually the"SpOUT" (spark output) is the connector that plugs into the TFI module on the distributor. Leave that plugged in. There is a 2 wire shorting plug next to it on the same harness that you unplug.

the wire thats hanging near under the distributer correct?

THe  spout is the GRAY jumper.

It should be. If not it will be right there. It's just that little plug. Remove it, set your timing and plug it back in.

well the little plug i unpluged was black and it was rigth under the distributer, hanging.  ill look again and check if i see  a grey one.

It's the darker grey connector here, with only 2 wires.

thanks so much that was the only plug i seen and it wasnt grey so i was goin nuts searchin the motor for it, thanks again man
