upper-lower intake torque spec Reply #1 – November 21, 2006, 09:44:23 PM I nearly stripped a hole on my brand new Cobra intake trying to go 200 in/lbs (16 ft/lbs). I was going real slow (because it seemed like too much torque) and I felt the threads start to give so I stopped. Next time I have to take my upper off I'll be repairing that hole:mad: I'd go 12 (144 in/lbs) and use blue loctite on the threads. Quote Selected

upper-lower intake torque spec Reply #3 – November 22, 2006, 12:53:13 AM I just snug 'em down too. Same with valve cover bolts. Intake to head than yea use the torque settings. It's really easy to strip the upper to lower holes since they're aluminium. Quote Selected
upper-lower intake torque spec Reply #4 – December 10, 2006, 02:52:38 PM 18-22 foot pounds. Start at the center, criss-cross your way out to the ends. start'em off around 16 footpounds each, then go back and keep bumpin' up 'till you hit 20 or so.-Info right out of ford shop manual. Quote Selected
