T-5 Hydaulic Clutch Setup

Has anyone who has done the 5.0 engine T-5 manual transmission swap went with a hydraulic clutch setup as compared to the cable setup like in the mustangs? I currently have a clutch pedal assembly out of a 93 mustang and run a standard clutch cable for the 87-93 mustangs with an aluminum quadrant. I would like to switch over to a hydraulic setup for a softer pedal and faster shifts and less missed shifts. Most new performance cars have this setup and I would like it in my car. I am not familiar with a clutch setup out of a Turbocoupe but I thought they were a hydraulic setup so if I were to get a pedal assembly out of a turbo coupe and mount a slave cylinder on my T-5 I think that would work. Otherwise I would have to setup a master cylinder on my current clutch pedal some how. What do you think??

Thanks Andrew

The 87-88TCs were hydraulic and the pedal assy will bolt in, but you will also need the steering column boot as that has the mount for the clutch master in it.

You "might" be able to get an internal slave cylinder from McLeod or the like, but you need to watchout for required master cylinde bores to insure proper actuation.

Well according to http://www.partsamerica.com the slave cylinder has a 1" bore and the master cylinder has a 5/8" bore so if I were to stick with those bore sizes there should be enough travel in my slave cylinder. Thats is whats listed for an 87 turbocoupe

That and the pedal effort should stay close to stock too.

When I swapped the manual trans in my 84 XR-7 a few years ago I used the hydraulic set-up.  Pretty light pedal.

Also, on the 87-88TC the hydraulic actuation is different from the cable.  The cable pulls and the hydraulic pushes on the clutch fork. You might be able to cobble a mount together using the stock TC slave, but the internal set-up might be the best bet.

See if I can use the master cylinder setup from a turbocoupe then I was thinking I could just make something like this up for the slave cylinder on the transmission. They want 250 bucks for what you see here and another 250 for the master cylinder to go with it. I can get a push style slave cylinder like whats shown for 50 bucks and make my own bracket. Total investment would be $50 plus whatever a pedal assembly out of a turbocoupe cost. Hell I might even be able to mount a turbocoupe master cylinder on my current clutch pedlal but I am not sure though.
