One project down... (56k death) November 19, 2006, 09:44:54 PM ...about a million to go. I figured I should hurry up and get this one done, though - winter is coming (the fact that it was 68 degrees yesterday and the day before notwithstanding). It's a snow plow for the Kodiak. It's still got a bit to go to be finished (such as wiring the winch, you can see the booster battery I used to test it, some tpuppies along the top from where I welded the two halves together, and paint) but it's ready for snow otherwise. I made it out of some old bed rails, a lawnmower handle, and a large propane tank (forklift fuel tank). It cost me about $5 to build not including the $69 for the winch - not bad considering Canadian Tire's got ATV snowplows on starting at $500 this week. I built it for easy removal, too - remove two lynch pins and unhook the winch and it's off. The problem is my father likes it so much he wants me to build him one for his Fourtrax.Pics: Quote Selected

One project down... (56k death) Reply #4 – November 19, 2006, 11:52:32 PM $500 is insane, we sell kimpex blade kits for $350. It would probabally be a good idea to install sliders on the sides of the blade to keep it up off the ground a bit or hinge the blade and install heavy springs to hold it so that if you hit something solid it wont bend the blade or rip it off.Sure beats shoveling though!Scott Quote Selected
