I believe I am cursed... November 18, 2006, 09:52:21 AM Every TC I have bought has had one consistent problem. They all leaked gas! Darkthunder, first time I fill it up gas came pouring out of the what I though was (and was told) a disconnected return line. Obviously not. Had to throw some vise grips on the soft line to get it to stop. 88 TC, I drive it home and park it, I start to walk inside and notice there's a trail of wet asphault leading right to my gas tank. It apparently was leaking at the seam and someone tried to fix it with epoxy. Wonderful. Replaced the tank with a used one, it leaked from the hanger assembly, my fault but still annoying. Now 87 TC seemed to have a leak but I had it replaced with another before giving it a chance to show it's ugly side. Pick up my TC today, put some gas in, didn't fill up because of being paranoid... didn't see any leaks. I was happy. Get all the way home and there's a puddle of gas under my tank and the thing is soaked. I have no idea where it is leaking from but I have just about had it with these used gas tanks./rant Quote Selected

I believe I am cursed... Reply #2 – November 18, 2006, 10:25:23 AM I had my tank down 4 times over trying to fix a fuel leak. I couldnt find the right o-ring to seal the hanger to the tank. Quote Selected
I believe I am cursed... Reply #3 – November 18, 2006, 12:40:14 PM If it is a bunch of small pin holes or somthing little you can buy this stuff called Red Kote. It is made to reline the gas tank. Have you checked to make sure that the rubber seal where the filler neck goes in is leaking or bad? As for the hanger o-rings they should give you new ones when you buy a fuel pump. I know Carter and Airtex pumps do. I'll also check to work and see if I we can get New tanks. Quote Selected

How is that going to fix the problem?Just go buy the $1.49 part that is busted and be done with it. Why did all the other tanks leak? I've never had a leaky gas tank with one of these. Quote Selected

The RTV was a bandaid to stop the leak so I could drive it. ler Shops don't take to kindly to welding lers in with a gas leak nearby eh? The O-ring is brand new (un-busted) and the hanger assembly is pretty new too. Still shiney. BTW, anyone know where I can order a new lock ring online? Quote Selected
