The '83 is in it's semi-heated garage with a cover thrown over it.  The '84 is in a garage (non-heated), but at least it's inside out of the wet.

My shiznit stays outside! :D:D:D My cars ALL have rock chips on them, because I drive the living bejebus out of them, that's what their for! I have pics of Layla last winter covered in ice (with little stalactites off of the scoops) when I was snow-driving her. I own a 2-car garage and I honestly can't remember the last time ANY of my cars ever spent the night indoors.

Come live in the Salt Belt.....then you'd have a different feel for driving the cars you care about in the winter.....

:iagree:

If you don't put the cars you care about away for the winter in the Midwest you won't have much of a car left in 10 years :hick:

Yup, you saw the 84 XR-7 I sped right?  It spent it's life driving in Indiana winters.  Hell I drove my Ranger for about 3 years (it had 35K on it when I bought it...sold it with 55K)...it was rust free save for one spot when I got it....Even with diligent cleaning and waxing, there was rust forming on the body.

Yeah I did. Same thing happens in Chicago (we're your neighbors). The slightest bit of snow and they dump 1 inch of salt. Hell when I go to the wreakers I can poke holes in the lower quaters of most cars over 6 years old with my finger! One thing that puzzles me though is Crown Vics. I see Police Interceptors that have been used by the police department and taxi companies with 300,000 miles on them and little to no rust. They must wash those things every day in the winter.
