84 XR-7 gone.... November 08, 2006, 09:07:40 PM Well after partially sorting out my hosting issues I was finally able to get pics up.Last weekend the 84 XR-7 was hauled away.... :( As I was taking it apart I realized it was in much worse shape than I remembered when I took it off the road 4 years ago. 84 XR-7 gone.... Reply #4 – November 08, 2006, 09:33:21 PM I can be so difficult to let something go like that. You have the tendency to look at it and see it how it was 25 years ago... not how it is now. I use that same "tunnel vision" as inspiration for rebuilding the '86.Did you keep that aluminum spare? 84 XR-7 gone.... Reply #6 – November 08, 2006, 09:39:59 PM I had to weigh out the time and $$$ to fix the body issues of a rust belt car that had seen FAR too many Indiana winters over getting something more solid. Could I have fixed it? Perhaps. Could that time and energy be better spent on something else? Definitely.Didn't save the spare. Thought about it, but I have no use for a 4-lug spare as all my Foxes are 5-lug. I didn't feel like messing around w/ trying to keep it or sell it. I wanted the car out of that garage so the 84TC can get out of the elements. Quote Selected
