Moving the ACT sensor on an explorer intake? November 07, 2006, 11:18:47 AM Has anybody moved the sensor from the #1 intake runner to infront of the throttle body? How did it run? I already wrecked one motor by not hooking it up at all, and dont want to risk hurting another one.My lower intake has the boss for the sensor but is not drilled and tapped for it, I figure it will be easier to just relocate the sensor to the intake tube, then drill and tap the intake. I have no problems except my car has the famous idle hunting and idles around 1,000 rpms. I can not adjust the idle any lower. I have a modified 65mm explorer throttle body, machined egr spacer, and stock ho intake at the current time. I have mine in the flexible air tube just after the air filter box.you mean like the MN12 and the SN95 aftermarket air filter kit where it sits in mid air next to the air filter?yes that works but!i never liked that idea..1, beacuse you do get a better reading someware in the air streamand 2, sometimes all you have to do is look at ACT wrong and it will never work right again..the reason why i said sealed in the air stream is beause if you have a mass air setup.. a pin hole will screw up a mass air reading and make the motor cry,kick,spit,miss,and mone!!and thats the only reason why it has to be sealed..Nick Quote Selected

My mass air computer went bad so I'm running speed density right now until I get another mass air computer. Guess I may have to move it once I go back to mass air set up.Thanks for the info.
