fuel line difference? October 30, 2006, 10:41:02 PM From what I've read about 1WildBird's engine swap thread, I've gathered that there's a difference in fuel lines of 5.0 cars vs. 3.8 cars. Just wanted verification on this.I do know the TC fuel lines are different. Quote Selected
fuel line difference? Reply #1 – October 31, 2006, 08:42:43 PM Yes they are different. I have the V6 lines from the tank on up, with the large feed line connecting to the V8 fuel lines I picked from a yard. The return I spliced in with the Ford fuel splice kit. Something that isn't the best choice, as others here will say. Better choice would be to pull the lines from a V8 car from fuel tank pump to engine. If I had to do it all over again however, I'd like to replace the stock plastic fuel line (which is nearly 20 years old) and go metal tube, or use the fuel lines in the Summit Racing catalog. There is an adapter that will connect them to the stock fuel rail line connector:RUS-651104http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=RUS%2D651104&N=700+0&autoview=skuthat was mentioned in an earlier thread. fuel line difference? Reply #2 – November 01, 2006, 06:40:13 PM What didn"t believe me? Hell I can take ac ouple pics if you want more proof. The 3.8L lines come out through the top of the inner fender, and the 5.0L lines go under it and up to the motor. The 3.8L lines are shorter and wont reach. The pressure line does reach, but there is no slack at all, if a motor mount broke it could rip the line off. So I lengthened both the lines by about a foot. Quote Selected

fuel line difference? Reply #4 – November 02, 2006, 12:22:14 PM 1 WLD BRD is right. I'm working on shortening the intermediate v8 steel fuel lines for my car to adapt the V6 lines to the V8 fuel rail. The fuel pressure shrader valve is located on the V8 intermediate line and I want to keep it. Quote Selected
