K I don't know...

My car's been a garage queen for the past week since I took it out to work after installing my new Stealth intake and used Holley Street Avenger.  That day it shuddered horribly at idle coming home even though it was fine on the shorter test runs I had been running for days.  Over the last few days I've been trying to figure this out only thing is it won't start half the time.  Actually 90% of the time.  On the rare ocasions when it does start I can't replicate it 2 minutes later.  Just now I started it and it idled up to 1500 rpm more or less and then I shut it off so I could push it partway out of the garage (there's an oil puddle I don't wish to ignite, no it's not a leak).  Then when I tried to start it again it backfired through the carburetor.  I've been messing with the mixture settings, they are currently 2 out but it doesn't seem to do any better less or more, I've been at this off and on for days.  Just after the last attempt I opened the primary sight plug and the fuel level was considerably below the bottom edge where the manual said it should be.  The fact this carb came off a Chevy 350 might account for that  But floats or not this engine was RUNNING just a week ago and for days prior.  The weather's gotten colder but still....what say you guys?

Okay I just started it and left it running til it warmed up.  Then I turned it on and off for a while while I tried to adjust the float level.  That sure was fun.  Now once again the car won't start :(

yea, i'd try cleaning the jets, i wouldnt think itd get that bad over just a week, but maybe between somewhat dirty gas and it sitting a while maybe itd just tale a week or too like u said it sat. but i'd do that just bacause of the jets are dirty, and u get it to idle right, it may not run good under throttle, so any work u do maybe worthless. but thats just were i'd take step one from.
