Woot! Improving times - moving toward 11's!

I changed the crimped up 2 1/4" cat-back in my car to a nice mandrel-bent 2 1/2 " setup.

My previous best was 12.48 @ 114.5 MPH.

New best:

R/T .618

60' 1.78

1/8 8.017 @ 89.4 MPH

1/4 12.279 @ 117.1 MPH

I'm happy

The air was great last night :D

The track was cold & I was getting a little squirrely on my second run when I didn't get a good burnout (car slid sideways). In fact, the next time I went sideways during the burnout, the starter girl had me re-do my burnout - "if you wipe out here, you'll wipe out there" she said - glad they know what they are doing there. That was the best run with the car rocketing straight from beginning to end. :D

You're running 117, you should be DEEP 11s already.

Sixty foot could improve, but it seems to be moving out kinda slow through the first 1/8mi.  What gear ratio are you running?  Are you powershifting?  Or grannying it? :D

Gaining 28mph through the last half of the track is pretty unusual, most street cars gain about 22-25 unless they're not really pushed the first half track.

Congrats man!  That's moving out REALLY good for a KB on a 302...

Hehe - you noticed that huh? I am running HARD into the rev limiter in 1st gear (as in I shift after I notice the engine just flattened out suddenly) - lol - I am using an RPM switch that has a very large filter on it's output (as in really slow) and by the time the shift light goes on in first gear, it is way too late to shift. Works fine in other gears. I am thinking of getting a 375+ box to interface with my 300+ ignition as this has an RPM switch and a better rev-limiter to boot that can be set in 100 RPM increments (among other enhancements). If I can actually keep the car under full power through the 1/8th, I expect that my 1/8th will improve and I will quickly hit the 11's. Nice detective work BTW, I was not aware that the "issues" I was having were that noticable.

When you get that fixed, you'll knock off at least a half-second of ET, maybe even more.

Great job.. keep it up.

Some improvement this week...

R/T: .111 (they changed to a .000 light from a .500 lgt last week.

60' - 1.692 (best was 1.65 this week - not bad)

330' - 5.179

1/8 - 7.929 @ 89.25

1000' - 10.265

1/4 - 12.198 @ 117.04

I upped the rev limeter to 6250 & this helped a bit, but I'm still over-revving in 1st and my shifting is like a grandmom. When I hit the shifter harder I miss 3rd - the Tremec doesn't appreciate the extra RPM's :( I'm think I'm going to order the control module for my ignition.

Yep.  Still chuggin along in the first eighth.

Work on that 1-2 and 2-3 shift... those times will drop drastically.

Great job though man.. wish mine was that fast. :)
