I used to be a tech at a GM dealership, 'til somebody tried to stuff a Mazda 626 up my tailpipe at 50MPH. Now I build cop cars by day, by night I sell stuff online (sequencers, LED cop car lights, headlight flashers, etc). Actually because of back & neck injuries I only do the cop car thing part time now. I have learned much in the way of fabrication doing those cop cars - trying to make a prisoner screen designed for a Caprice work in an Explorer, trying to make a radio console designed for a Crown Vic work in an Impala, building dog cages for K-9 units, trying to install $50k worth of radio, computer and video equipment into one car, that kind of thing. I must say, because of this job I've gotten pretty ed good at welding metal and fabricating lexan pieces, and most importantly, thinking out and making up wiring harnesses - gonna come in handy when I rewire my car (already did come in handy when I installed the stereo, lighting and overhead console) :D

I also preach the virtues of seat belt use in my spare time ;)

I'm a fifth year senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Architecture and Commmunity & Regional Planning.  I should graduate in May and then 3 years or so for my M.Arch and my MCRP.  I also work for the Engineering Mechanics department tutoring and proctoring tests for ENGM 220 (Statics) and ENGM 324 (Strengths of Materials) essentially the Construction Management and Architecture engineering courses.  Anything beyond that moves away from Architecture towards Architectural Engineering.

I own my own company building telecommunications structures (towers) and celluar sites for cell phone company's and whoever else needs wireless solutions ie internet etc all over western Canada. I previously worked for a company doing the same thing but after 10 years I gained my own contacts and resources and decided to give a shot on my own with a good friend who had some $$ to kick into the venture. Now 7 years later we have 15 employees and things are going strong. At least I dont need to climb 600ft towers anymore thank god as i am much to old for that anymore...also getting a bit fat:D

I work at Crete Carrier.  A trucking company based out of Lincoln as a Lan/Server Tech.  We have 3 trucking lines and 2 insurance companies.  So if you ever see a red Crete Carrier Truck, a blue Shaffer truck (based out of new kingstown PA) or a maroon Hunt flat bed that's us.

Basically I'm a do all guy.  I do servers, helpdesk, hardware repair, printers, faxes etc.  I do a little of a lot of things in the tech field.  Even a little AS400 operations.

I work for Google NY, moved here from Missouri, and I had to leave my cars behind, which is the only part that sucked. Everything they say about Google being a great company to work for - double that and you're still short. I have great colleagues, awesomely cool bosses, and more gadgets than you can shake a stick at. I pull long hours, but that's because I want to, and because my work always keeps me motivated and challenged. If there was a way for me to live there I would (we have showers & beds, but they don't let you sleep at work for more than one night at a time), just because there's always so much stuff that I want to get involved with, but don't have enough time.
