Wow, I've been gone nearly a week and missed all the excitement.

Seems to be working much better than a week ago though.
I'll have to go home and see if it's any quicker for dial-up... wishful thinking.

It is slow as hell again. Checked it against any other site and they are like lightning compared to this site today.

Yep.  Took 1 minutes 17 seconds for the Lounge to load after I clicked the link.

29 seconds between clicking on the link in the Lounge and the board doing anything in response. 95.4 seconds total between clicking on the link and the page load finishing.

Just for comparison, I clicked on a thread of similar length on another board. (34 posts vs. 25 here) 4 seconds before a response, 16.866 seconds total to finish. Both are vBulletin 3.6.0, but that's a board with much more traffic.

Today is definitely teh suck.

According to the host, no problems were found with the database connection. Yet I have logged at least 3 broken connections today. So...we'll open up another ticket with them and see if this info helps.

It won't even load sometimes.  I get a message saying that the operation timed out.
Eric - You said your site is on the same server, but I just tried it and it loads fine.  You think it is a software issue?

It is possible that the board software has an issue. We're on a shared server, meaning that if there are other boards (or other resource-intense sites, for that matter) hosted on the same server, then we'll get slow loading times. It's too expensive to move to a dedicated server. And since Carm just installed the latest version of the board software and we know it works, just slowly, I still think it's a back-end issue connecting to the database. Sometimes it flies, sometimes it crawls. We just have to figure out why, then resolve it.

I think you're right. It's a back-end/connectivity issue! There's been a problem on this host ever since we moved over here.
