85 Turbocoupe.. Reply #7 – September 06, 2006, 08:36:56 PM Nice Bird! I normally don't dig the drag setup but it's slowly growing on me. :) How do you like those MMR coilovers? Do you drive it on the street often? Quote Selected
85 Turbocoupe.. Reply #8 – September 06, 2006, 10:42:13 PM Hey Guys, thanks for the compliments....As far as suspension goes there is not much to it. I bought the MMR Coil overs about 4 months ago with the 90/10's. I really like that combo. My 60ft's dropped from 1.70's to 1.62-1.65 range. It would be a little better but I was having problems launching on the two step. The rear has an old set of TRW drag springs with an airbag in each one. I really like the ability to adjust my ride height. Plus I can load the right side and drop pressure in the left for drag duty. My lowers are boxed and the uppers are stock. Hell, I am still using all the original bushings it came with in 1985. I didn't realize until last week how bad that was hurting me. I could only move my A arm about 4 inches. When I get it back together I am going with tubular A arms w/ poly bushings. AS for the rear I think I am going to use an anti roll bar along new bushings for the upper and lower. Possibly solid for the upper. I need to check into CHE? rear suspension cause I haven't found anyone else that makes stuff for our cars. Whats your take on that company?I have some engine shots but I can't locate them. As far as the interior I made a sheet metal plate that covers the face of the dash and I have Autometer gauges sticking out. I still have more work to do on it. The center console is missing. I had one, it had some broken tabs so everything rattled, I got tired of it and tossed it. I need another one now. It still has the stock TC seats but I am wanting something different and lighter to replace them with. Any ideas?I have a fuel cell and battery mounted in the trunk (work still in progress) I am sure I left something out so if I did ask away. Almost forgot...The car really glides down the road. It really smooth and not rough. It prob would take a corner too well but I like straight line racing. Besides corner carving is what I have a bike for.:D My wife was driving it to school and around town all the time and when I could get it from her I would drive to work. I have cross country w/ this thing so it isNOT a drag only deal. xr7cat.. I will try to dig up a few more pics.. Quote Selected
