headers...same different pile

is there any performance difference from stock HO tubular manifolds compared to like aftermarket shorty headers? and will the 90* boot trick work on them too?

stock tubular HO headers are smaller and have crush bends in them. aftermarket shorties flow better because their a bigger tube and are mandril bends. if you want to stay with that same style, you can get the FMS shorties which are the same but bigger like most of the aftermarket headers, same bends tho. whats the 90* boot trick?

You don't need 90* boots if you're running e6 or e7 heads...if you're running GT40P heads(F77E or F76E) that would be helpful to know also.

I am planning an exhaust upgrade on my 88 T-Bird Sport. I have a set of Mustang Headers, and a no-cat H-pipe. what more will I need beyond the exhaust kit in the link I have attached? I know the pipes will need some extra length, but can any one tell me how many inches I will need?

from what i saw in the link your going to need the flow tubes lengthened like to connect from the h pipe to the lers, it looks as if its just lers and tailpipes in the kit, but it said theirs a intermediat pipe, so maybe lengthen them 6" or so. also, its got mustang exhaust hangers on  it, so unless you take yours off the body of your car, and install mustang hangers your going to have to cut that tubular L shaped hook off the tip, and cut yours off your current exhaust and modify them to fit. their is also the hanger that will have to be welded to the back of the ler that attaches under the seats  in the car. and lastly, the tips are going to be to short. they will stop a good way before your rear bumper, maybe even a foot, so the tip must be made longer so your tip hangers can at least reach the tip.

its not as hard as it may sound, its just adding some pipe hear and their, and welding on some hangers, but i thought u might want to know its not going to bolt right up.
