Rear coil over's anyone?

So im begining on my rearend overhaul and decided i would upgrade the rest of the suspension while im at it. I really want to update the rear with coilovers but not do any "Major" fabrication or welding. I know you can buy a coil over kit from Jegs that mounts in stock shock location, but know that the shocks are to short. Any body have any recomendations for rear coil overs?

Maximum motorsports stuff here. Pretty much your only option is mustang shocks which are too short, and get a set of chuck w's lower shock mounts. Or make your own?

I have Griggs Racing rear coil overs for a Mustang with Chuck's shock mounts...shaging awesome!!! Sorry, it just works so good.

Ok, well how about this kit from jegs?

The kit provides brackets that bolt right in place of the old ones which allow you to run any type of "eyelet" style coilovers.

My car isnt near me to do measurements, so if anyone knew the type of shock i would need, (i.e. Extended height, compressed height, ride height) Im pretty sure i could just buy a pair of coilovers and mount them in with no hassle, and i think a lil cheaper. Can anyone help me here? Any info is greatly appreciated.

P.S. "Aerocoupe" that bird is god sick! If i didnt have the whole slick's and skinnies thing goin on, thats just how ide want mine to look. ; )

A little advice on coil overs if I may, spring rates, rebound, and compression are all related. You would be miles ahead to talk with someone at Maximum Motorsports, Griggs, or the like so that you get a package that actually works rather than a combination of parts that fight each other.

Thanks for the compliments on the car! It will always be my favorite car as my dad bought it brand new.

I checked out the kit you have in your post above and it will work if you can find the correct length shock. I put the Griggs kit on the back of my car and the wheels were up in the wheel wells. I flipped the stock shock mounts on the rear end and that brought it up to where the tires were even with the fender wells. With Chuck's mounts I actually have the spring about mid way on the shock body and it sits right where I want it. I believe Bruce Griggs told me that the shocks I have are 7" long in the body. I am not around the car or I could put it up on the lift and measure for you. The easy thing to do is go to an auto parts store and measure a couple there to see what the body length is. From there you will need to figure out how much longer of a body you will need to get the rear height where you want it.

Thank you for all the help. At least now im pointed in the right direction ; ) Oh and sweet idea on rotating the brackets. Went and checked that out on the other rear end i have and was surprised on how easy it was!
