Curved wiper blades

I'm just curious about this - I know that within a few months, my wiper blades begin to lose contact with the lower passenger wide of the windshield. What are the point of curved wiper blades such as those seen HERE and should I try using a pair or stick with something that works better on a flat windshield? Anyone have any input on the "super silicone" blades? I hear they last for quite a long time but I'm not sure about the silicone windshield treatment...

Any silicone wipers that fit our stupid pin mounts?

I always Rain-X the hell out of my vehicles' windshields. I usually retreat them once a month.
If worms had daggers, birds wouldn't f**k with 'em

I use the rainex washer fluid in everything I own. rarely use the wipers when it rains

X2. It works great,and so does the Rain-x itself.I just buy quality wiper blade assemblies and never had an issue.

I know that the Trico Neoforms make a big difference. I swapped traditional blades out on my 08 Mustang and the 05 Cavalier I used to have that I gave to my Mom.  I sell blades all the time where I work and the newer beam blades do a good job. As far as silicone goes, I have no experience with them. However nothing seems to make a blade necessarily last longer as heat is the enemy. I have seen people drive for 5 years on original wiper blades and it is amazing to me that they neglect to check them. Wiper blade sales are highest when and after it is raining because such neglect has old ones peedling apart like licorice.

I will tell everyone this.. Never buy teflon blades that have the light colored teflon strip molded into the edge of the blade. I tried a set and they are garbage. The teflon gets stiff and cracks in no time. They squeak and skip as the worst offenders.

Never buy economy blades. They are made with less pressure points than OE style traditional Trico blades. And always avoid traditional blades with the rubber held in place with a plastic spline.

Rain-X just relased new Repel wiper blades supplied with Rain-X packets you spread on the windshield. They are pricey and you would do just as well with a lower priced set of Trico beam blades and a seperate bottle of Rain-X.

Right now the Tbird has  blades until it is roadworthy... No sense wasting money on good blades when it is sitting most of the time while I am completing the restoration.

Aquapel is MUCH better than Rain-X, just so you guys know. Costs about $3.50 per application and lasts roughly 6 months. It doesn't wipe off with wiper blade use like Rain-X does but both won't move water off your windshield quickly until ~35mph. Aquapel is based on fluorine, not silicone so it attached itself to the glass much better - at 6 months performs about the same as Rain-X is in 2 weeks.

Rain-X washer fluid does work on top of Aquapel to extend its installed duration but doesn't work as well as both concentrated products applied correctly. I use the Rain-X washer fluid but quit using the application as it really is a poor product compared to the competition that's out there. It IS more readily available though and that's a selling factor for many.

Anyways, the best usage seems to be Aquapel or similar based product, washer fluid that contains a repellent ingredient, and silicone wiper blades. I don't know of any decent silicone pin-mount wiper blades though. I wish (other than welding) there was an arm with the j-hook that would bolt to our cars.

I wonder if I can research this and find one that fits? They have to have the J-hook, be the same length for both sides and have the same pivot spline hole.

Obviously only one matching side needs to be found but I doubt you will find anything of the sort. I've searched Mustangs and the closest people have got was similarities other than the spline hole being a different size.
