fuel filter brand ????? Reply #1 – March 13, 2007, 10:51:09 PM Not sure, but I have been using either Purolator or an Amsoil filter when I switch to synthetic. Purolator or Wix are reccommended if you don't use the Amsoil filter. It will need changed more often though. Quote Selected
fuel filter brand ????? Reply #2 – March 13, 2007, 10:55:11 PM Don't know about the fuel filters. I've always bought Frams for that. Quote Selected
fuel filter brand ????? Reply #3 – March 13, 2007, 11:35:36 PM The problem with Fram oil filters is their drainback device, not the actual filter medium. Thus, a Fram fuel filter should be fine. The whole Fram oil filter debacle is confined to Extra Guard filters, not the Tough Guard filters. (or so say the internets) Quote Selected
fuel filter brand ????? Reply #4 – March 14, 2007, 12:17:22 AM I always get Motor Craft everything (fuel, air, oil) but their probably made by Fram too. Quote Selected
fuel filter brand ????? Reply #5 – March 14, 2007, 09:16:05 AM Well, the other problem with frams is that the filter element has cardboard endcaps, instead of stamped steel like most of the other brands out there. So there's a chance the endcaps can disintegrate and go into your engine. Quote Selected
