Accent lighting August 12, 2006, 01:02:51 AM Well, since I have a bunch of green LEDs sitting around, I fuigered that I would fab up some accent lighting for the interior. So Far, I only have 3 vents done, but I'll post some pics to give you an Idea. They are a little blurry, but you get the concept.the last pic is the aluminum switch panel. Quote Selected
Accent lighting Reply #1 – August 12, 2006, 01:20:03 AM Very cool idea. Though, I've noticed while driving at night, the less light inside the cabin, the better. I really like the switch location. Did you direct wire it or use relays?All-in-all, I like it. I'm just not sure I could drive with all those lights going on. Quote Selected
Accent lighting Reply #2 – August 12, 2006, 04:20:53 AM Direct wired, however, with inline fuses. Since they are LEDs, they dont draw much power. I had them on tonite, and to tell you the truth it wasnt that bad at all. Its not really that bad since the color is a darker green. The only problem I found was I can actually see the LED itself when driving, but only on the drivers side vent by the door. I'll have to re-locate those two, but other than that, it works. I used Duplicolor "Night Lites" coating inside the ducts. It makes a reflective surface sort of like a road sign. It worked well to diffuse the light, but its not noticable during the day, because its clear. I might add a couple of neon tubes under the dash to even it out a little. Also, I need to change the cluster lights over to LED bulbs so i can have the same darker green shade all over the dash. Quote Selected
