The Greatest Parts Car EVER!!!

Yes that's right, I have here the GREATEST parts car ever. :D

In lieu of my recent discovery of cancerous rust at the front passenger side frame, right above where the K-member meets, I have decided to sell the car as a whole parts car instead of parting it out or even trying to fix it. If you haven’t seen the rust, check out my thread http://foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=7525. The car is still drivable, but I don’t even want to chance it. Nor do I want to put anymore money into this car. Plus I have some items I need to purchase and the sale of this car would REALLY help out. :)

  The Car:

  1988 ThunderBird TurboCoupe
  2.3L Turbo 5-Speed

Interior is in good shape. It has power seats, windows, mirrors... all in working condition. It is way better than the interior of darkthunder. =/

I am basically going get the car back on the road. It will have 4-lug in the front and 5-lug in the rear. I will include both sets of wheels (Tri-Bars and Turbines) with the car. I will probably set the psi around 18. After a final cruise she’ll be ready for her new home.

  The Bad::mad:

Now for the bad. As stated earlier the car has a very bad rust problem. In addition to the passenger frame, all fenders have some rust somewhere. The passenger side of the cars seems to be the worst side. Where the gas tank mounts, rust has degraded it almost to the point of non-existence. The bottoms of the doors have rust, and any other typical place rust feeds this car has it. But it doesn’t end there.

  Reverse Lights don’t work. I installed a new reverse light switch in the trans and they still do not work. I’m tired of pursuing this gremlin. I do believe it has something to do with the security system that was on the car before I bought it. After witnessing the dealer’s employees try to get this car started before I bought it, I’m pretty sure they had something to do with it. =/

  Wipers only work on fast mode. I replaced the motor and determined it was the governor. I have another governor ready to go in but I haven’t had the time to put it in and I’m not even going to bother.

  Power Steering was making its howls before I parked it. It still works but it could use a flush.

  Electric Fans don’t work by themselves at the moment. When I bought the car it had some rinky- fan on there wired to run all the time. It now has a dual fan setup, but it only comes on with a switch. I replaced the temp switch after testing the relays good, but I do not know if that fixed the problem.

  Wires. This is one of the biggest problems with this car, besides the rust of course. :lol: The wiring is all screwed up in places. And it is irritating. The foglights have a hack job on them (and BTW the foglights do not work… hmmm I wonder why) the fans have a hack job on them, which I tried to fix somewhat, and under the dash there seems to be a hack job. There is no radio, dealer pulled it.

There are some other bad things, but they should be fixed with the mods that will be/have been done I just haven’t been able to put the car back on the ground yet.

  The Deal::deal:

  Now here’s the deal. You get ALL of the above, the good, the bad, the ugly for $2k FIRM.

The car will not be ready for a few weeks but I want to cease parting it out and put it out on the market ASAP. You can contact me at antoniosmi@gmail.com, here or on my cell (248)880-3897. The car is located in Royal Oak, MI and I will post pics of it when it is completed and ready to go. I am also willing to deliver for $1 per mile up to 200 miles. I can also bring it to CatJam if it hasn't sold by then. Though I doubt all the extras will fit. =/ Thanks for looking.

Sorry, I'm only selling it a whole. If it doesn't sell that way then I'm keeping it. Which I'm leaning towards anyways.

But I did see both of those items for sale on http://www.turboford.org. Check it out. :)
