The Sport can break the tires loose at 40. No, not 60. Who are you pi$$ed at? you're acting like an ass. You probably have the most righteous ride here, and I'm sure there's no car that could dust yours around. Whatever you think you have there's always someone that has something better. Nope. My car is maybe average. It's just quick enough to be fun. I enjoy it though and that's what it's all about. Am I pushing some buttons? Perhaps. Seems to me TJ302 likes to be the one upper and it rubs me the wrong way i guess. I think he needs to get over himself sometimes. Granted its i nice, clean shiny car.

We still have the love.. We've been here too long to get really "personal". It's all good. I wish my Sport was as clean as Thunderjet's. I use it as a daily driver though. As soon as I can get a video camera, or one that will just take any video, I'll post one.

The biggest problem with this whole discussion I see is of course, relativity. Like...well a lot of things. What are we comparing to? The "street machine" world? In that case, yea Lou's car, my car, anyone on here with a GT40 motor or thereabouts is nothing to brag about. My silver car hit 60 mph in 4.9 seconds according to my G-Tech. That was with spin and hitting the limiter because 1st went by too fast. The thing seemed to give me 2 tenths too kind compared to LVD's time board, so we'll say that makes up for the inaccuracy. Should be good for a 13 to 13.2 1/4 mile if I can drive the thing right. That's....okay in the street world. If you're not in the 11s you're not "fast". In THIS realm? That's brutal fast. When stock is 150 horsepower....300 being DOUBLE that...kind of a big deal.

As for some real advice..Lou...dude I'd leave the thing. Maybe the better heads for a mild gain just for that little extra kick, but if you go throwing a 500 liter KENNNEEEEE BELLLL on it (hehe), and then decide to throw a ton of money to make that thing hook...you're gonna snap something. You gotta bump up the injectors, fuel pump (dont know if you did that already), etc. Still have the 7.5 axle? I feel like you'll snap/twist axles or something when it hits 2nd. No expert here but still. Also might be enough to need subframe connectors? I feel like it doesn't take much torque to start yanking these bodies around.

Im glad to see you trying to spread the message of how good an AOD can be. I think a lot of us on here realize they are not actually garbage if done right. A lot of people out there don't know however. You need to ask yourself exactly what you want that car to be. Don't make it enjoyable only under certain cirspoogestances. I know it rarely comes out, I dunno where/how you drive it/for what length/highway/city/winding country roads/whatever. And I'm sure you are conscious of this concept but always worth mentioning IMO, we all overlook things like that.

Nah. Stock fresh 8.8 will be fine in either case. 150 HP. 350 HP. Doesn't matter on the street/without any real traction. If he plans on drag racing the thing at the strip or running DRs or slicks all the time then yeah, snapped axle central with 350+HP and track abuse. The auto is going to be easier on them than a stick car and a true drag tire will be easier on them than the DR.

Yeah. Autos can be a ton of fun. If i were to buy a new 2011 up mustang it would definitely be an auto. When i re-built my aod in my 88 years ago (Beauman shift kit, clutch kit,TC etc....) i loved it. I enjoyed the man pedal swap in the fox much more though. Ditto for the current SN95
