try pulling back the brights switch, or flash to pass thingy. Check your headlight switch...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

sounds like a multifunction switch. you may get lucky and find the connection is just corroded, or you may need a whole new unit if that doesnt work.

No autolamp/autodim DOES make it a bit easier to troubleshoot.  Takes 2 sensors, alot of wires, and 3 relays out of the picture.  Have you checked for continuity accross the headlamp switch yet?

Check the headlight switch for voltage on the black/orange wire ( hot at all times).
Check for voltage on the red/yellow wire (hot with switch on).

sounds alot like the bad connection that I had at the back of the multi function switch. For me it turned out to be the  headlight low beam wire had a bad connection on the back of the multi switch. pulled it apart put in a new conector on that wire and all is good.
