New Toyota Ae86? August 04, 2007, 04:24:30 AM Autoblog on new AE86I know not that many people here will probably care just something i spotted while on the forza forums. I for one think that the back end of that car looks a hell of a lot like a Cellica where as the front end is confused, looks like a yaris.Jesus christ what the hell were they thinking a 1.5 120 horse 4 cyl? Starting to remember when i test drove the Lancer before i decided on the 99 cougar. Quote Selected
New Toyota Ae86? Reply #1 – August 04, 2007, 04:25:59 AM I'm a ford guy. Not as die hard as some people but still I like to keep to the styleing cues. However, I like the look of it. It's something different and I would actually drive one. Quote Selected

New Toyota Ae86? Reply #3 – August 04, 2007, 10:19:42 PM I am a die hard toyota guy, I just fell into the Tbird because it was my bro-in-laws, I liked the V8, and the profile reminds me of my 1980 Celica. I like the way that car looks and i think it would be great if they actually made it, especially RWD. Not that i can afford one but in 15 years maybe. Quote Selected
New Toyota Ae86? Reply #4 – August 04, 2007, 11:34:13 PM this is FAR from a ae86 and to put them side to side puts vigorous shame on the true ae86. balanced, factory supercharged, rwd, OEM limited slip differential. the most underpowered car to power drift next to a silvia or viper. this thing? stuck in grip driving, with little to no horsepower FWD (prolly with paddle shifters.) hopefully it ends up like a "new supra", as in doesnt sell. and to be honest it looks more like a scion design and wheelbase deal. New Toyota Ae86? Reply #5 – August 05, 2007, 12:42:24 AM FYI the AE86 was NOT offered with a supercharger in the US, The article says it WILL be RWD. Quote Selected
New Toyota Ae86? Reply #6 – August 05, 2007, 04:16:35 PM yeh i know the ae86 didnt come usdm with a supercharger. but why not convert it? if a small car like that comes out RWD, its still only has 150hp out of a 4cyl. and i bet it's N/a so it'd have some sort of variable timing. with the g series that infinity/nissan has, you'd think they're putting this toy up to bat against it, but with a 150hp car.. 3 strikes.
