I am unsure of the fitment but I have heard of people using them.I could pull the radio :yuck: and put it there - like that's going to happen! The top space is the only open space and it has no depth - nothing else will fit up there, as is. Quote Selected
Cup Holder? Reply #16 – June 08, 2006, 09:53:55 AM The Taurus cup/coin holder you got is the right one sansabar, but it won't fit in the space above the radio because the ducting for the climate control system is in the way.If you have a full console in your car then it will fit in the space under the radio. Or you could move the radio down one space and put it where the radio used to be.Either way it's not a very good option, but it is better than nothing. Quote Selected
Cup Holder? Reply #17 – June 08, 2006, 12:13:30 PM Yeah I was thinking, when I put my gauges in that spot above the radio, at first I thought they weren't gonna fit because that definitely isn't very deep. But they did.Hey, at least these things aren't like my tempo...the cup holder is up under the dash, in front of the shifter of all places, and you CAN'T wedge a cup down by the passenger seat like I do in this car. That thing sucks. Quote Selected

Put stuff in it and if you stop too fast the stuff flies out. Quote Selected
Cup Holder? Reply #19 – June 08, 2006, 07:35:53 PM My 88 cougar has a cup holder no center console though. It looks just like the one the sansbar has a pic of. Maybe that could be made to work. Mine was located below the radio. It even has the coin holder. Quote Selected
Cup Holder? Reply #20 – June 08, 2006, 08:27:58 PM Hmmm, this sounds like a novel idea. I use the mentioned methods of holding my cup, but every once and awhile I get those crazy cups where the lid wants to pop off or heaven forbid....... a styrofoam cup!!! I don't have a radio so this should be easy. Quote Selected

Cup Holder? Reply #22 – June 09, 2006, 06:04:18 AM I didn't give up - just can't use that holder from the Taurus. I won't shuffle all of the panel around in hopes of making that one holder work. I will be going at this from another direction and will be sure to post any success stories.:D Quote Selected

Cup Holder? Reply #25 – October 27, 2006, 03:00:34 AM I'm having the same problem in my 93 cougar. Is there any aftermarket parts that would work? Maybe a new center console? I'm a non-smoker if that gives any ideas. Quote Selected
Cup Holder? Reply #26 – October 27, 2006, 07:15:53 AM The extent of my drinking in my car consists of stopping on my way to work for a cup of coffee. From the gas station I get it from to the parking lot at work is less than 1/4 mi. Cup holders? We don't need no stinking cup holders. :D Quote Selected

The only space of the proper width is either the radio, (already stated as not an option) or the bottom cavity under the ac control. Thing is, although it fits, the cup drawer hits something in back preventing it from shutting.
