T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Looking for '67 - '69 Ford Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar
I'm looking for a '67 - '69 T-bird or Cougar in decent condition, located in the Northeast. I don't want it to be a show-ready car, since I will be driving it as often as I can, but it obviously needs to be driveable and should be able to pass NY state inspection with relatively few repairs needed.
No preference on colour/interior, but a manual would be awesome :D
Thanks !

Yeah, it sucks, but I have no parking spot here , and a couple of New York winters would probably turn it into a rustbucket.

Lounge / Nice cop...
You can pretty much tell if someone is hauling ass even if they're coming the opposite way, and I think you'd have been even better off just telling him that you're late for work - most of the time the guy/gal will appreciate you telling the truth and not trying some bullshiznit story.

Lounge / Going to the track this weekend
My friend with a '92 Dodge Dakota is probably going to be there too, so we're going to have a little race, he's got about 100hp and 1000 pounds over me, so it should be pretty even.
I don't want to spin that tire until it blows, so do I rev it up to 3-4-5k and then dump the clutch, or gradually let off of it ? I was told that there is a sticky substance called VHT on the track, which should improve grab - I will be using street tires so I don't know how much that will help.
I'm looking forward to seeing what she'll do, any ideas on an approximate ET ? I was told a number of figures, from 14 to 18, hopefully it will be just quick enough to give that truck an ass-whopping.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / True duals ideas and questions
Only deal is, I think I need to put better octane gas in it, previously I didn't really hit the rev limiter but now I did a couple of times and it sounded like it was pinging a little.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / True duals ideas and questions
I am now officially in the process of doing the T-5 swap, and there is no going back.
I have a quick question, where exactly do I route the clutch cable through ? I have not found a hole/plug in the firewall and I was considering drilling one for it.
Also, since I have the power driver's seat with the consolette, I figure I want to keep it, so I was wondering if I should either keep the consolette attached and just not move the seat forward too much, or saw the consolette off and attach it to the hump. This of course so I can cut out a hole for the shifter.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / True duals ideas and questions
The way it is right now is stock manifolds into pre-cats then a y-pipe into the main cat and then splits up to go into two dynomax lers. Well, I would really like to get rid of the pre-cats, main cat, and have a set of headers (what do you recommend for cheap ?) going into an H-pipe and then to the lers.
Since I don't think I will be able to do this on my own, would a ler shop be able to do it ? How would they solve the problem of one main cat and me wanting true duals ? Would/Could they be able to say it's for "off-road usage only" or some other ?
I'm in the process of gutting the cats, but all of the bolts/nuts are rusted together, so it's a pretty slow process getting them off - right now I've managed to disconnect the back end of the cat from the exhaust and it sounds hella mean, but I do want to maintain a semblance of legality, therefore my question about true duals.
