This old Bird runs a little sluggish and has a ruff idle. Checked the basics, plugs, spark, filters. The KOEO (Key On Engine Off) was error code 11 or all is good, but the KOER (Engine Running) was error code 18. My Ford Error Code Reader manual list the issue as SPOUT circuit open or Spark Angle Word (SAW) is open. I have check the SPOUT and it is in and passed a quick resistance test. Still looking, any idea's.
Not sure if I got the right fuel pump, the instructions say some parts may be different. The one on the left is the old one with the filter right behind it. The one on the right is the new one which has a screen but no filter.
Here they are side by side old one on the left, you can see how the tops are different, but when I look at them it would still be possible to run the new one, just a few less parts. Do I have the right one or is this a problem?
I am not sure want to buy for replacement. Was looking at this one. What Character is VIN 4 in number left to right? Do you take the pump apart and just replace this piece or do you need to replace the whole unit?
I tried to reset the fuel pump thing in the trunk, it was not triggered and did not help. Car was running fine before. At this point is it safe to assume that if the pump is getting electricty and trying to run then pulling the tank is next? Or is it possible that there is another problem?
Car won't start. Took off the fuel filter and checked it to make sure it was not clogged, tank is 3/4 full. Ran a hose from the fuel rail into a bucket and truned on the ignition and nothing came out. I can hear the pump start for a few seconds so I think it's getting power. Checked computer for codes (11) none found. Do you think I need a new pump and if so, do you know the correct part number? Any store/vendors recommendations would be appreciated?
I know this is not exactly the right forum, but have any idea what a 1960 T-bird is worth. It is in good condition, no rust, needs some minor drive train work, no body damage, original family ownership.
I bought KYB struts for my stock 88 T-bird. These struts were the correct part number for my year bird. They have never really felt right. The fact they were shorter than the orginal units never set well with me either.
