Update Time!

I've been busy working on the project last month:cheers:
The Cougar 8.8 went in with pretty easy. Only downside is that the way the gas tank sticks out on the pass. side, i can not use my quad shocks. Engine and trans went in easy too. I had to use the trans cross member from my '87 Bird because the C4 one was 2 inches off. I used the motor mounts that were in the '81 since they looked fairly new. I had to have a drive shaft made and did some mix-n-matching of brackets to eliminate the AC bracket.
Last Sunday I added the fluids, charged the battery and it roared to life, literally (open headers). Pretty sure the the family next door was NOT impressed.:shakeass:  After running it for about 20 min. checking for leaks, setting the timing etc. It was time for a drive around the block. Yee Haw!! That was fun! Took it pretty easy tho, I haven't adjusted the Lokar cable with a gauge yet. Going for exhaust and tranny adjustment tomorrow.

I know the open headers feeling. I reciently did that with the Fila and the houses near me were not happy either. Great job on the car so far. Keep up the good work

Think you will actually be able to beat me this time when we line 'em up?  :shakeass: :nkhk:  I know, I will keep the V6 in it so you at least have a chance.  LMAO!:rollin: :giggle:

Nice work Ron, I gotta get down there and check it out and show you the progress on your old bird. :sawzall: :welder: :hick:

OOOOH! Ouch! Felt that one in the nads.:nkhk:  I'm not sure if I want to try running ya. If I lost to a V6 I'd have to kick MYSELF in the nutz.:pbb:
I took it to Vic's Performance Transmission today to get the TV cable set up right and got the duals put on. It's a little louder than my 87 was so my plan to keep it a sleeper is down the tubes.:disappoin
With the rain today it was hard to tell how the shift kit will work out. 2nd gear hits pretty hard tho:grinno: Still lots of work to do but at least its mobile.
