TC Hood

This is an album, start to finish of my TC Hood repaint. Make it a sticky if ya want, most people dont get to see the whole process. Well heres some pics.

How I got it after pick up and arrival at the Body Shop I work at.

Then I started pulling dents, and grinding the high and low spots.

Then I started sanding down the body filler. I used 36 grit to knock down the thick stuff, then used a Dual Action Sander with 80, then 150. I sanded the scoops by hand with 150. Its alot easier with the scoops removed.

Happy Graham?

Anyone need the ducting from a TC Hood?

Thats exactly what it will look like by tomorow or Tuesday. Same color and all. I just cant decide whether to paint the scoops the same color or go silver or black to make them stand out or accent the chrome on my car.

paint them the same color. Whether its a 67 mustang or a turbocoupe i personally like all the scoops to be body color on any car, it just looks cleaner in my opinion. . .

Ok Black seems to be very popular. BUT, will this flow with the Style of my car? I have all NICE, no dents, scratches, etc. Trims, mirrors, grill, emblems, and paint is nice, but not Awesome.

Body color will look exactly like Kingcars. Im getting chrome Cobra Rs also. I have 3 more pics, but I am going to wait until tomorow when I finish sanding the first round of primer. I sprayed black spray paint over the primer to reveal the low spots, and some minor scratches. Some more sanding, another good round of primer and she'll be ready for paint. Anyone want the ducting from this hood?

Just another opinion....  body color. I don't think black would work with all the chrome you already have. Plus, it would "draw" your eyes to the scoops and is that what you want? I think you would want people to notice the nice look of the car overall, not walk up and stare at the scoops. As I said, just another opinion....

I tell you to paint it body color. Trust me I haven't painted my T/C hood it is maroon and the rest of the car is gray. All pepople do it stare at my hood. As for the ducting I'd take it but I already have a spare Maybe over a turbo ford would want it.
