Well that sucked

So I decided to do the rear brakes on my 86 tbird.  Put the car on the hoist and decided it needed new drums/shoes.  So I changed them out.  Decided that since I'm driving my g/f's car for a while, to go ahead and paint the window trim.  Got all the trim pieces off without too much trouble.  Sandblasted the pieces and painted them Plastikote bumper black.  At first I thought that some of the trim would be plastic.  So I bought some rattle cans and got started.  Knowing that they are all metal, I would have powder coated them.  I think that I will probably just end up doing that later on.  I hate doing a job twice.  Anyways got the trim back on just as my dad comes out to take a look.  Let's me know that I cracked the windshield in 2 places.  I couldn't believe it!  2 splits on both sides of the rear view mirror from me re-installing the top trim piece.  I used my hands to press it back on.  I'm still pretty pissed that it happenned and it's only going to get worse.  I don't know if the local glass shop can do something to stop them from spreading anymore.  Take a look.

P.S. At about 80km/h the car now has a vibration.  Will try rotating the wheels on the drum to see if that helps.

They can sometimes repair cracks under 12" ask the local glass places they should be able to do it

At least it isnt this bad, second day I had it the hood flung open on the highway doin 90km/h folded itself over the roofline and wrecked a perfect windsheild. All I heard was "lub lub WHACK!" then I couldnt see  ahead, to make matters worse it was night.... fun stuff

, your car looks like a cleaner twin of mine, except, of course, the black window trim.

Same thing happened to my red sprint but I was going slow so I just got a couple cracks on the passenger side.
