oil pump? valve cover leak? What the hell!

My oil gauge keeps beeping and flashing but when it does it does it for a second or two and then goes up to normal. my valve cover gaskets need to be replaced and leak a little but would that cause this problem? i need to drive it since i don't have another car and can afford for this one to blow up.

Valve cover gaskets would not cause an oil pressure issue.

It could be a sender that is going bad that is causing the problem, or it could actually be something worse.  Best bet is to change the sender and see if the problem goes away.

Change the sender, and/or put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it to help diagnose
It's Gumby's fault.
