3.8 to 2.3T re-visited

Well, seeing as how I ended up with the TC, and not able to get what I wanted on the V8, thinking about swapping the 2.3 and T5 into the white Tbird.
Have read that the engine harness will plug in, so hopefully the engine and tranny are good.
I won't be using any of the PRC or the abs stuff, so it'll be for sale soon.

Just as the rollback showed up to drop it off, we were headed to town to go eat, so I wasn't able to mess with it tonight, but tomorrow I'll turn the crank over by hand, and see if it's seized.
(JY owner said it was brought in to him on a trailer, had sat for a coupla years, but ran when it was parked after hitting a deer)
Had a good interior, but the driver's front seat has the infamous twist in the back..looks like I'll be using the Motorsport seats awhile longer...
Anyway, paid 305 bucks altogether-(including delivery), and got everything except the front bumper...
Will post a coupla pics before too long, have to wait till daylight to get em though

The Wiring in a TC(especially the '87-'88) is a whole differnt deal than any of the V6 or V8 cars... It will work with some adapting, but is far more complicated than either of the others...

After looking at my chiltons book, and reading your post here, I've got to agree!
I guess if I can get the thing started, and make sure it runs, I'll probably sell the engine/tranny combo, to help fund a 5.0HO, or the Fox oil pan and headers for the 351w.

So is the TC not fixable???

It probably is, but I don't have the title, and can't get it, as it was sent to the jy to be crushed, and the front subframe is bent up somewhat, a good shop could likely straighten that though.
I was lucky he even sold me the whole car...
I am tempted to put a V6 gas tank in it, but then again the fuel lines are probably butchered beyond repair...
And I've already taken the black int. out of it, too.
If I only had that title....

I could always swap the  whole wiring shebang into the V6 car, as an option..be a lot of work, but then I never did things the easy way.

it is possible to swap the vin plates.... not that im suggesting it because it is illeagal but seems like a viable option...And is not uncommon since you bought the car leagally you dont have to worry about it being stolen.

Those thoughts have been in my mind, only a few things I'd need to fix:
1 Another TC hood/header panel/bumper, and lights for it all
2 gas tank, and probably the fuel lines
3 another rear swaybar (as I took it for the V6 car today!)
4 I'd have to put another interior in it...it
5 bent front subframe, more than likely could be fixed easily
6 fix that ignition switch assembley, have no idea what's wrong with it, touched the wires together, they made something on the engine click, but not turn over...I had to jump the solenoid to turn it over...

I don't know though, I'll try to get the pics uploaded tonight, gotta have the film developed today sometime..

V6 to 2.3T revisited

Bought an '88 EVTM from auction on evilbay, so I'm starting to look into the 6 to 4 conversion more and more.

If I do end up doing this, to simplify it, I wouldnt use the ABS, or the PRC stuff, just the engine into an otherwise V6 car.
As stated earlier in the thread, I have the complete TC to use parts and stuff from...guess mainly what I want is a bit of a rundown on what I'm in for.
Once I get the evtm here, I should be able to handle the wiring changes.

I know I'll need:
mounts,
ecm
wiring from the 2.3
