Centercaps January 31, 2006, 03:01:11 PM I recently bought some Mustang Tribars for my 5-lug upgrade. I was wanting to change the center caps on them. Does anyone know of any that will fit with a TBird emblem on them? Or perhaps those blank centers for pony wheels? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.Antonio. Quote Selected

Centercaps Reply #3 – February 03, 2006, 06:40:33 PM The wheels you're talking about, are they the 15" ones that have three sets of triple bars? You might try some Ranger/Explorer/Aerostar centers - there are at least two different sizes (one for the "directional" 5-spoke 15-inch wheels like I put on my Dakota, one for the "directional" 10-spoke 14-inch wheels found on Aerostars) and they come blank from the factory. The 14" wheel centers are larger than the 15" ones iircAfter doing a bit of poking around I found that the Aerostar caps are 7-5/8" in diameter. I don't know the 15" wheel's center cap diameter, but I do know it's smaller. These pics show the types of wheels I mean - the center cap shown is from the Aerostar: Quote Selected
Centercaps Reply #4 – February 03, 2006, 06:43:15 PM Actually I found some. I just need to find some cheaper ones. They want 10 a piece plus 5 bux shipping... EACH!! screw that. The ones in that ebay link will prolly fit yours wheels. The overall diameter is a little over 6 3/4" and the lip diameter is 6 1/2". Quote Selected

Centercaps Reply #10 – February 04, 2006, 09:51:58 AM hey darkthunder. you are out of luck as far as i know. I have searched for centers for the same wheels for months and only thing i came up with is mustang centers from the early pony wheels fit as well as the later pony style wheels but thats it. i got those same wheels but they are painted black with polished lip, for 125 with tires Quote Selected
Centercaps Reply #11 – February 04, 2006, 10:22:57 AM Well they sell blanks for those wheels and I'd rather have blanks than a horsie. I thought about painting mine black, but since I have a white car I'll leave them be. You got any pics of those wheels mounted on your car? Thanks for the info. Quote Selected

Update!!! Reply #14 – July 19, 2006, 06:36:22 PM Ok I had an idea. Use the centercaps from the snowflakes I am about to discard. The caps are slightly bigger than the hole they cover and the lip setup is different between the to caps but I was able to make it work. :D Sorta...As you can see it doesn't sit flush with the wheel but I can live with it. :)To get the cap to fit I cut little slits around the retaining lip so they would fold in some. I think I need to cut some more slits because it is a pain to install and remove. I think they will look REALLY sweet once the wheel are painted black. :DWhat do you think? Quote Selected
