Don't You Just Hate... January 14, 2006, 12:35:59 PM ...waiting and staring at the pile-o-parts (pic below) eagerly awaiting to go on your car? This isn't even half of what I will be buying in the next few weeks. I've got to get this Bird road ready by the end of Feb to make the +600 mile trip to AL and pick up my son. I had planned on putting some of this stuff on today, but the weather isn't cooperating. :( Quote Selected
Don't You Just Hate... Reply #1 – January 14, 2006, 12:50:31 PM I know how you feel. Just think of the pile of parts I've got on this:That will have to go on this:I'm also going to be ordering a bunch of stuff from CHE performance, and I've got to locate a 5.0 T5 and associated parts, plus the HO conversion parts. I've got a lot of work ahead of me... Quote Selected

Don't You Just Hate... Reply #5 – January 14, 2006, 01:50:47 PM same here. and cougarcrusen well a cold cement floor is better than a snow covered driveway with blowing winds that mane it extremely cold. id kill to have a gurage to fix my car in. Quote Selected
Don't You Just Hate... Reply #6 – January 14, 2006, 02:19:19 PM Don't have a pile of parts waiting to go into anything, just a parts car waiting to be stripped. Don't have a garage or even a slab of concrete outside to work on.. just a gravel/dirt driveway and a carpet sample I lay on. (which also doubles as a floor mat for my truck) I do have the weather for working on stuff, though. 63 degrees and windy. On the plus side, I think I've found a new owner for my '88 T-bird, and it may even see new life as a drag car. Been interesting the last few days here. Quote Selected
Don't You Just Hate... Reply #7 – January 14, 2006, 02:35:51 PM Yeah it snowed. It didn't stick to the roads but it is cold as hades. It's been pretty warm all week until today. Of course. I live in an apartment but a friend of mine said I could use his driveway. He has a garage but the roofers have a trash bin blocking it. =/ I didn't feel too enthused about working on a cold wet driveway with the wind blowing this morning. On a positive note, me and my g/f found a house for rent last night and it has a garage. Woot! It's pretty much a done deal, we get the keys on the 11th of Feb so I can't wait to move in! :D A cold garage doesn't bother me as much as the wind does. When it's below freezing even a slight breeze can feel like a pimp slap. It kills my motivation pretty quick. Quote Selected

It's pretty much a done deal, we get the keys on the 11th of Feb so I can't wait to move in! :D Man, that's exactly what I wanna do. I gotta get my own place this summer (I'm graduating from college, plus my mom is selling our house) so I'm hoping to find a place with a garage, or at least a carport, and at the very least some cement to park my car on so I can work on it...But yeah I know how you feel. My TC is wrapped up for the winter, and in my room I have a new cam, stb, k-member brace, subframes, and torque box reinforcements waiting to go on...but before all that I gotta pull the transmission, replace the bushing in the output shaft, and pretty much replace the whole clutch assembly (new flywheel, new bearing retainer, new clutch fork, and probably a new clutch too since I don't know what's wrong with the one that's in there). And on top of that I still need to get an SVO master cylinder for the car, and the 3-core radiator I've been needing basically since I got th car...I'm getting antsy because I'd much rather be working on it than not! Don't You Just Hate... Reply #12 – January 15, 2006, 12:24:37 AM I am rounding up some parts as well. Heres a few: LA3, big VAM, brown tops, 87/8 intercooler, 8.8" w/ 3.55's (the disks go with it as well, joy!), CHE's, 87/8 hood hinges (I hate that goofy prop rod!!), 3" exhaust (dp-tip), Eibach lowering springs, and a few other things that I have added jsut to clean the bay up or make it easier to use... looks like I have my hands full :D Frank M.Did I mention I am in the process of purchasing a silver 87/8 as a daily driver (that means the 83 is gunna be the queen ). It has a few things thats going to need adjusted/fixed. Needs new rack, and the rear main is bad so it needs fixed. It has quit a few options on it and im getting a pretty good deal on it :D pics as soon as she comes home (hopefully the middle of next week??) Quote Selected
Don't You Just Hate... Reply #13 – January 15, 2006, 10:52:29 AM Try not having money to buy the parts you need so you're stuck to deal with the car the way it is. That's the price you pay for buying a new car.My driveway is gravel. I have no cement or garage and my home has nothing around it to block the wind. I've had to work on the car with the driveway partially snow covered and muddy with the wind blowing snow in my face, dressed in layers looking like the Michelin man, and wearing rubber surgical gloves because winter gloves can't grasp anything. Not very bloody fun.But it does make things quite interesting and memorable. Quote Selected
Don't You Just Hate... Reply #14 – January 15, 2006, 01:53:01 PM I do all my "major" jobs in my grandma's garage...unfortunately I usually can't leave the car in there for more than a day so it kinda limits me!I've done plenty of work in our gravel driveway though, trust me... Quote Selected
