1986 Ford Thunderbird Pro-Street

OK, I'll start. Here are some pics of my competition-level 1986 Ford Thunderbird Pro-Street. It started life as a Monogram "Red Hot" Pro-Street T-Bird kit (actually a very BAD reissue of the 83-86 Pro-Stockers with a ton of gaudy gold chrome). I cut the hood to fit the 14-71 Blower with fuel injection and carbon-fibre hat. The headlights have custom clear covers, the rear spoiler is a 87 TC kit one, and the fogged windows came from a parts car Pro-Stock T-Bird kit. I added windshield wipers, treaded tires, and 4-wheel disc brakes to make it a believable "Pro-Street". The interior has a fire extinguisher and a N2O set-up. The paint is 3-shades of a metallic Copper color from my airbrush (more orange in the middle, red on the sides). The only aftermarket piece is the distributor. About 75 hours in this project over a 14 month time frame.

Oh yeah, the radiator is out of a TC model as well, and here are 3 more pics.

Lincoln Mark VII LSC Pro-Street

Which leads me into it's "companion", my LSC Pro-Street. I dropped the "wimpy" 351 out in favor of the Shotgun Pro-Stock motor (with the original Dominator carbs on a low-rise intake this time) but kept an auto in it instead of the Lenco. Put on wheels from a Pro-Stock kit with treaded tires, glued the door panels inside, detailed to competition quality. I finished it in 50 hours over 5 weeks. Color is Gunmetal metallic with a Jet Black stripe out of a rattle-can.

1979 Ford Mustang Turbo

Here's my Turbo Stang. I built it while half-way through with the 'Bird because I needed a break. Box-stock except the parts bin wheels/tires. Rattlecan red. I really enjoyed this model and thought it turned out nice for a 10 hour 3-day build.

PS: Sleeper, more pics of that '55! I like it:)

Nice lookin models, guys :)

Here's mine...for some reason, all my good ones ended up being trucks. Also I haven't built a model since high school, I have boxes of half-finished projects in my basp00get. Someday, when I get the room to work on it again, I might get back into it.

First one-

This was my first all out, everything but the kitchen sink model that I did. Started out as a Monogram '78 (I think?) Chevy flareside 4x4 pickup kit. It's got a dual plug hemi in it that I got out of my cousin's top fuel dragster kit. I wired and plumbed the engine, ran brake lines, flocked the interior & made seat belts, made custom headers, etc...the exhaust is made out of aluminum tubing and it has white metal brakes on it. I smoothed out the body and added a tilt hood, put on roll pans front & rear, and put a clear panel in the bed (I read about that somewhere and thought it would be a good idea...looking back, I kinda wish I hadn't done it, but ah well).

Second-

AMT/Ertl '50-somethin Chevy pickup kit (can't remember...this was the one that was black with yellow wheels on the box). Decided to try soemthing different with this one...put springs under it from a monster truck kit with a custom front axle. Put some super swampers under it (ordered them from a place called American SATCO) and dropped a 396 in in place of the original 6 cylinder, with custom fenderwell headers :) I like this truck a lot.

Third-

AMT/Ertl '53 Ford pickup. Again, tried something different with this one and decided to build it up as a total beater. Body is bashed up & rusty, body panels are different colors, tires are bald & mismatched, exhaust is falling off, engine is leaking oil. Everyone seems to love this model and I do too because it's just cool. I definitely want to do another one like this.

Here's one of the projects I just happened to have a picture of-

This truck started life as a Monogram "Quadzilla" monster truck kit, and at some point I decided to make it into a pro streeter :dunno: I backhalved the frame with a four link, tubbed the bed, the engine is from a Bigfoot kit (and I think I put small block valve covers on a 460...oops!). I'm not sure if I'll ever finish this one...I messed up the truck's grille and I don't even know exactly where all the parts are I need to finish the kit.
