Rep points system, yea or nay?

There has been some discussion as to the usefulness of the reputation system, a new feature added to the board at the last update. There's only one way to decide on its fate: A poll. You know how it works.

Now we Canadians are not the only ones faced with a Christmas election campaign. The poll will close on Dec 31st. Make your voice heard :D

I don't think I've used it except a couple of times on Bird351, as per his request hehe, besides, we all know who's who around here, so what's the point.

I could take it or leave it. I don't care. If somebody here is living or dying by their rep power, I have one thing to say...
GET A LIFE!!!

it's pretty useless... just about every board that had it has gotten rid of it due to ppl taking it way to seriously and flame wars erupted. =/

Rep power doesn't really mean much to me.  I have no idea how I got the rep power I have now...  It means about as much as post count.  If post count is your e-pen 15, then rep power must be your e-testicles.  Lose it, don't need it.

I don't see the point of the rep system. Everyone here is good in my book so far (and that's more than I can say about some forums I go to)

I dont see why its even a discussion really. We have no issues with or without it, and I rather have people rep w than post w.
It's Gumby's fault.

I'd rather both rep and post counts be gone (or in the case of post counts, no longer publicly visible, lest people think others are "post-whoring" to inflate their count.. Eric and Carmen still have a use for it, so I wonder if there's an option or a script or whatever to eliminate it from view by us, but to keep it visible to any mod/admin) so there's two less excuses to bitch about stupid stuff. Third change I suggested in the thread that started this is to put the Lounge in its own category, so people who mostly object to it can minimize it. However, this is far more consideration than really needs to be given, since (as much as I often hate this reply) if they don't like it, they shouldn't read it.. and should be able to show a little bit of personal willpower in avoiding it. This is a whole lot of talking over something extraordinarily petty.
